WINTER CAMPS- Registration
has STARTED!
Smarts Starts is pleased to announce both full day and half day camp
options at locations during winter break 2008. Registration is on a first come,
first serve basis so early registration is encouraged!
FULL DAY
camp programs: Ages 6-16
Animation Station:
This class will focus on creating
several types of animated movies using Stop Motion Photography. Students
will learn basic techniques in Kineograph, Claymation, and Character Animation.
They will then create their own animated movies using those techniques, and
learn the process behind editing movies with sound effects and special effects.
These movies will be premiered at the end of the day in our own Anthem Film
festival. All movies will be burned onto CD-Rom to take home.
December 23rd,
Anthem Community Center, 9:00 to 3:00 pm, $74.00.
Multi-Media and
Graphic Design:
This class will
immerse students into the creative world of Multi-Media and Graphic Design by
allowing students to work collaboratively on a series of projects. Their
first project will teach students the basic elements of Graphic Design and then
use those elements to develop corporate portfolios complete with business cards,
letterhead, brochures and more. They will then move into the Multi-Media
world and learn how to use Digital Camcorders and Cameras to create slide shows,
commercials and more. The final Multi-media project will have students
creating their own movies by learning and using green screen
technology. Your future budding film directors and graphic artists will LOVE
this hands on class and will come home with all of their work on CD-Rom to share
with family and friends.

HALF DAY
camp programs: Ages 5-8
Webkinz World: Come
enter the world of the Webkinz. In this class, students will adopt their
own pet that will come home with them for continued fun. The class will
focus on using the virtual world created by Ganz called Webkinz. This
world is a fun packed place with tons of educational activities that are fun and
rewarding. Additionally, the virutal world will become reality as the
students participate in our own version of the Webkinz Arcade complete with 'Kinz
Cash' and the 'W' Shop. This class is for both beginner and advanced
users. It is a fun hands-on class that keeps providing fun long after the
class is over. ***students will take home the webkinz they adopt in class.
