Healthy Me:
Students will explore the world of nutrition through hands-on
activities, computer games, and through exercise. Students will understand
the importance of healthy foods and exercise while exploring the virtual world
on the 'Island of Nutrition'. This is a very hands-on class with lots of
activities! Tuesdays,

Wizards and
Dragons: Come and spend the month back in the days of knights and
dragons. Children will work with computer software focused on this period
of time. They will create their own wizard items, magic potions and more
as we combine hands-on activities with computer skills.

Animation
Station:
This class
will focus on creating several types of animated movies using stop motion
photography. Students will learn basic techniques in Kineograph, Claymation,
and Character Animation. They will then create their own animated movies using
those techniques, and learn the process behind editing movies with sound effects
and special effects. These movies will be premiered at the end of the class in
the first New River School “Film festival”. All movies will be burned onto
CD-Rom to take home.

Multi-Media and
Movie Making: In this
class, children learn to use various forms of multi-media technology and utilize
those forms to create different types of movies. Students will learn to use
digital cameras, camcorders and implement those into real projects. Through the
course of this class they will create a production company that will produce
documentaries, animated films and movies using different technologies, including
green screen animation and more. This is a very creative and hands-on class. At
the end of the class families and friends will be invited to our own ‘film
festival’ complete with popcorn, red carpets and adoring fans. Tuesdays,
